When Aditya Duggal joined Rohit Industries, he saw that all the work was being done on paper. If somebody ordered something, it was written on a piece of paper and that paper would be passed from one hand to the other, till the product was delivered. It would take at least 2-3 days to find out a list of all pending orders.

They shortlisted SAP but realized that the price was exorbitant. They encountered challenges where some applications excelled in inventory management but lacked robust accounting features, while others operated offline. They were certain to move out of Tally due to difficulties with data imports. In their quest for a better solution, they experimented with open-source projects like Openbravo, but found them too complex and costly to implement. Attempting to build a custom software solution tailored to their business needs also proved unsuccessful.

While searching for a suitable ERP system that could be tailored to their business needs, they initiated several changes. Their first step was to introduce a culture of systematic order data management within the company. This initiative brought about significant changes, not only for the organization but also for its employees, resulting in some internal challenges and disagreements.
